However, it can also be used to diagnose cancer, find out where the cancer is located, whether it has spread, and whether it is affecting the functions of other organs in the body.
The type and location of surgery will depend on the type of cancer you have. Your hospital stay will also be dependent on the extent of the surgery you require. You may go home the same day or you may need to spend a few days in the hospital.
