Radiology
Sacred Heart Healthcare System offers a complete range of diagnostic
and interventional procedures in general radiology and in subspecialty
areas. All procedures are interpreted by board certified radiologists.
Appointments are necessary for CAT Scan, ultrasound, fluoroscopic
procedures, mammograms and nuclear scans. To schedule an appointment,

Diagnostic Ultrasound
The Diagnostic ultrasound division is a section of radiology located
on the first floor of the hospital. CT or CAT Scan, computed
tomography, is a division of radiology using CT scans to take
pictures inside the body and performs image-guided procedures.
Vascular and Interventional Radiology (Angiography)
Vascular and interventional radiology (angiography) is a division
of the department of radiology, located in the Cardiovascular
Center, that performs specialized tests to look at and treat
abnormalities in blood vessels. Abnormalities are commonly treated
by angioplasty (using balloon-type catheters to open up narrow
vessels) or by placing metal stents in the blood vessels. Other
areas of the body that are also treated include the liver, stomach
and spine. The staff are all certified interventional technologists.
Nuclear Medicine
Nuclear Medicine is a division of radiology that uses small, safe
amounts of radioactive material to take pictures inside the body.
Northampton Imaging Center
The Northampton Imaging Center, located in the Northampton Medical
Center, includes mammography, dexa scan, diagnostic and vascular
ultrasound, general diagnostic x-ray and fluoroscopic procedures.
The center is certified in ultrasound and mammography is ACR
and FDA certified. Evening hours are available and there is safe,
