Innovative Treatment
In our 14-bed unit, we provide care for patients with a wide range of disabilities. MossRehab's decades of rehab expertise benefit our patients as they experience the unique programs offered by one of the nation's best rehabilitation hospitals.

Stroke Program
MossRehab has long been regarded as the Greater Philadelphia region's leading provider of outstanding stroke care. On average, MossRehab returns more patients to independent living than any other hospital in the region. This expertise in stroke care is now available at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Orthopedic Program
We help patients with acute and chronic bone, joint, and soft tissue injuries to build strength and regain function. In addition, Patients who have undergone hip or knee replacement procedures can build mobility, strength, and flexibility in the affected limb. We also offer post-laminectomy care in a tailored program of physical therapy that includes mobility, strength, and range of motion for patients following back surgery.

Amputee Program
We provide many services to people who have lost a limb due to illness or injury. Our goal is to assist patients in adjusting to disability while maximizing function. Everything from rehabilitation counseling to appropriate referrals for orthotic and prosthetic services will be provided by our MossRehab staff.

Musculoskeletal Pain Program - Outpatient
Pain and stiffness in joints and muscles can make it difficult, if not impossible, for people with musculoskeletal pain to perform many activities of daily living such as walking, dressing or eating. Left untreated or under treated, this kind of pain can further damage joints and impair movement.

The MossRehab at Sacred Heart Musculoskeletal Pain Program provides patient-centered care for the treatment and relief of pain, with a focus on restoring or enhancing a patient's functional capabilities. Physiatrists (physicians specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation) work with a team of multidisciplinary medical professionals to treat a range of problems from sore shoulders to serious spinal cord injuries.

One of the most comprehensive programs of its kind in the region, the MossRehab at Sacred Heart Musculoskeletal Pain Program includes evaluation, medical management, EMG (electromyography) diagnostics, acupuncture and traditional pain management. Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs) are also available.

Outpatient rehabilitation - which can include physical therapy, occupational therapy, aquatic therapy, hand therapy, speech, psychology, and massage therapy services - is coordinated with Sacred Hearts Physical Medicine Department. Evening hours for outpatient rehabilitation services are available.
