Geriatric Medicine Residency Program

WELCOME AND HIGHLIGHTS

Dear Doctor:

The Sacred Heart Hospital/Temple University (Allentown) Geriatric Medicine Residency Program was accredited on July 1, 2002 by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education. The first fellow joined in August 2002 and the program was expanded to three fellows in 2005. Upon successful completion of the one year residency program, the fellow will become eligible for the Certificate of Added Qualification in Geriatrics (CAQ) as recognized by the American Board of Family Practice and the American Board of Internal Medicine.

  • Community-based, urban program affiliated with an unopposed Family Medicine Residency Program

  • Faculty expertise in movement disorders, dementia, gero-psychiatry, and incontinence
  • On-site Memory Disorder Clinic, Wound Care Center, Sleep Lab, Audiology Clinic, Speech Clinic, Older Adult Behavioral Medicine Unit, ACE Unit, Hospice / Palliative Care, and Geriatric Assessment Team
