Geriatric Medicine Residency Program
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
A candidate must be a board certified or board-eligible graduate (July 31st of each year) of a 3 year U.S.A. Residency Program either in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine. Sacred Heart Hospital Geriatric Medicine Residency Program is accepting 3 PGY IV residents each year for this one-year fellowship.
All applicants must submit the following:
- Completed application with signature
- Minimum of three (3) letters of recommendation, one must be from past or present program director
- Curriculum Vitae
- Photograph
- Personal Statement of career goals in geriatrics
- Letter of Residency completion
- Valid ECFMG Certificate (if applicable)
- USMLE Step 3 scores (required to apply for fellowship program)
Our geriatric faculty reviews all applications and appropriate candidates for the upcoming year. We will be interviewing starting in September. Application deadline is December 1, with final selection occurring January 30. However, we reserve the right to select appropriate candidates before the January 30, 2008 deadline, as there is no match for geriatric fellowships. Upon satisfactory completion of our fellowship program, you will be eligible to sit for a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine (CAQ/Geriatric).
