The training will be led by DQE, Inc., a company that provides products and support to improve the safety and readiness of the response and health care community. “This training will ensure that Sacred Heart’s decontamination team members, who have volunteered their time, are prepared and ready in the event of a disaster situation locally or throughout Pennsylvania.  DQE will help Sacred Heart’s team build a foundation of knowledge and gain experience through practice drills to better prepare them for Emergency Management situations.  Sacred Heart is proud to be training such a large team of individuals who will be ready to assist the community and other hospital networks if ever a need arises,” says Felix Galvan, Emergency Management Coordinator/Captain of Security at Sacred Heart Hospital.

DQE has enabled national organizations, government agencies, hospitals, fire departments, and law enforcement agencies to better prepare for the consequences of natural and man-made disasters. The company develops and implements emergency management programs for hospitals, writes mass casualty and pandemic influenza plans, prepares hospitals for decontamination emergencies, and provides health care facilities with the planning, training, and technical support needed to manage disaster-prone events. Through training, hospitals can enhance their current state of disaster preparedness and put together an all-hazards emergency management program that is consistent with national standards and their response objectives.
