ALLENTOWN, PA - The Sacred Heart HealthCare System Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of John L. Nespoli also led Guthrie Corning Hospital to the Top 100 Performance Improvement Award by Thomson Reuters in the small community hospital category. Morehead is one of the nation's leading work environment measurement companies. Nespoli oversaw the execution of clinical service development strategies leading to a period of exceptional growth for Guthrie. Nespoli was a lecturer at Cornell University’s Sloan Program in Health Administration and created the Guthrie Executive Internship program with Cornell.
Nespoli has held numerous leadership roles for a number of leading health care systems. He was a senior executive of the Fallon/Saint Vincent Health Care System and the Chief Operating Officer of Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he led the planning and design of a replacement medical center for downtown Worcester. The new Medical Center became a major part of the city's downtown economic revitalization efforts. He was Associate Director of the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, where he led the development of the Level I Trauma Center, and the Medical Center's Cancer Service. He also held leadership roles at the Lourdes Health System in New Jersey, the Geisinger Health System in Pennsylvania, and Catholic Healthcare Partners, Pennsylvania region. He earned his undergraduate degree at Bucknell University and later received a master’s degree in health system management from the University of Michigan.
'I am very excited to be joining the team at Sacred Heart HealthCare System, and have been impressed with the Board members, physicians, management team and staff. There is a wonderful tradition of quality and compassion at Sacred Heart. They have also been recognized statewide as a great place to work. It is a challenging time in health care, but I am looking forward to working with the talent at Sacred Heart to take on these challenges. I am enthused about coming to the Lehigh Valley area,” says Nespoli.
