What to Expect

Wound CareWounds create a complex set of challenges. At the Comprehensive Wound Healing Center, we provide a full range of services for effective wound treatment and management of associated medical conditions. Our comprehensive services are designed to ensure cost-effective, standardized care with the flexibility to develop individualized plans.

Wound Assessment
We provide an extensive assessment of the wound site as well as the patient health factors that may be affecting the wound healing process.

Treatment Plans
Our multidisciplinary team develops individualized treatment plans that include wound care management and appropriate complementary therapies. Our wound care team also coordinates the ordering of wound care supplies for home use; arranges transportation to the Comprehensive Wound Healing Center if needed; visits nursing homes and assisted living facilities to see patients; and coordinates any other ancillary services that may be needed, such as diabetic counseling, smoking cessation, or infusion services.

Trained and Certified Staff
Our wound care team includes licensed health care professionals trained in wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy and a physician team practicing in various medical specialties.

Education
Patients and caregivers are educated about how to care for wounds at home and how to incorporate lifestyle adjustments to aid the healing process. Effective management techniques for underlying or co-existing medical conditions are also taught.

Discharge Planning
The wound care team reviews all of the needs of patients including wound care products, assistive devices and at-home wound care. Patients are sent home with detailed wound care instructions along with a plan for ongoing follow-up.

Support Services
Integrated support services help patients and caregivers cope with the demands of wound treatments and any necessary lifestyle adjustments.
