Five Star Rating
In December 2008, TCF was rated the highest rating of Five Stars by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Sacred Heart’s TCF was one of only two facilities in Lehigh and Northampton Counties to receive this honor.
The Five-Star Quality Rating System was created to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and help identify areas about which you may want to ask questions. This is the first-ever federal public ranking of 15,800 Medicare and Medicaid-certified facilities. The government used data from health inspections, staffing, and quality of care measures to arrive at the ratings released on December 18, 2008. The health inspections assess a nursing home’s health care services in compliance with federal and state rules.
