Getting adequate high-quality sleep is essential to your health, and without it, you may find that you are unable to perform everyday tasks to the best of your ability. Sacred Heart Hospital’s Sleep Disorders Center can help if you suffer from a sleep disorder that prevents you from getting the rest you need.

The first step to sleeping better is learning what may be disturbing your sleep. The sleep specialists at Sacred Heart Hospital’s Sleep Disorders Center are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of sleep disorders. There are over 80 different sleep disorders, but some of the most common sleep disorders that the Sleep Disorders Center treats include:

  • Idiopathic hypersomnolence
  • Insomnia
  • Narcolepsy
  • Nocturnal seizure disorder
  • Obesity hypoventilation syndrome
  • Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)
  • Periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD)

If your doctor suspects you have a sleep disorder, you may be referred to the Sleep Disorders Center for a sleep study. The Sleep Disorders Center conducts sleep studies to help confirm a sleep disorder diagnosis and determine possible treatments.
