The Center for Bariatric and General Surgery offers free informational seminars about bariatric surgery on a regular basis. Our seminars are the best way for you to learn more about the surgical options in a relaxed environment. In the open forum, attendees can ask questions and receive answers directly from the surgeons and the Bariatric Services team. Seminars are held at Sacred Heart Hospital as well as off-site locations in the area.

Support Group
We strongly encourage you to attend support group meetings to help you make the lifestyle changes you need. Studies have shown that patients who regularly attend support group are more successful with weight loss than those who don’t. Sacred Heart Hospital’s support group welcomes pre-surgery as well as post-surgery patients.
Sacred Heart Hospital holds a weight loss support group meeting monthly in the hospital auditorium. For more information about the support group, please call the Center for Bariatric and General Surgery at 610-776-4928.
Free Trial Gym Membership
New bariatric surgery patients are eligible for a free trial gym membership to Lehigh Valley Racquet & 24-7 Fitness Clubs. New bariatric surgery patients will receive:
- Free one-month membership
- One free session with a personal trainer (by appointment only)
- Option to place membership on medical freeze for bariatric surgery and recovery
