At Sacred Heart HealthCare System, we strive to create and maintain a family-friendly atmosphere. Listed below are some of the programs we offer to our employees:

Service Excellence Program
Employees may be nominated to serve as Ambassadors for the Service Excellence program. The program consists of three Pillar Teams supported by one or two Vice Presidents and a Bridgemaker, an Ambassador from each Pillar Team that serves as the liaison between the VP(s) and the Pillar Teams. The pillar teams are the:

Patient/Family Pillar Team

  • Supported by the VP of Nursing and the VP of Clinical Services

Community/Visitors/Outside Support Pillar Team

  • Supported by the VP of Public Relations, Marketing, and Foundation, and the VP, General Counsel

Employees/Professional Staff Pillar Team

  • Supported by the VP of Human Resources

The Pillar Teams focus on improving the quality of service provided for their specific target group such as patients, visitors, or employees. Bridgemakers serve a term of 24-28 months, and Ambassadors serve a 2-year term.

During their term, Bridgemakers and Ambassadors work on such projects that improve customer service, employee morale, and relationships with outside organizations.

Key to the Heart Program
Managers, employees, visitors, and patients have the opportunity to recognize employees that have gone above and beyond their normal work duties to promote excellent customer service. One winning entry is chosen each month for a prize.

Beyond Work

Sacred Heart Hospital’s Recreation Committee and Sacred Heart Foundation offer various employee activities, such as the Women’s 5K Classic, and discounted trips throughout the year, including excursions to New York City and Aruba.
