Other benefits and amenities include direct deposit, paid orientation, ATM accessibility on Sacred Heart Hospital’s campus, two attended parking garages at Sacred Heart Hospital, gift shop with payroll deduction available, and a Sacred Heart Pharmacy employee discount of 10% - 15% on cash purchases (prescriptions excluded). Employees participating in our Berkshire Health Partners plan receive a $5 discount on co-pays and an employee discount of 25% on deductibles and non-covered charges.

Health Insurance
Full-Time Employee Benefits
All full-time employees are eligible for our comprehensive health insurance, effective the first of the month following 31 days of full-time employment.

Payroll deduction is required for employees and dependents (coverage can be deducted pre-tax). Spouses of employees are allowed to enroll as a dependent on an employee’s health insurance plan; however, spouses are required to also enroll in any health insurance plan offered by their employers if their employers pay any portion of the premium.

Part-Time Employee Benefits
All regular part-time employees are eligible for comprehensive health insurance, effective the first of the month following 31 days of regular part-time employment. Payroll deduction is required for employees and dependents.

Spouses of part-time employees are allowed to enroll as a dependent on an employee’s health insurance plan; however, spouses are required to also enroll in any health insurance plan offered by their employers if their employers pay any portion of the premium.

Dental Insurance
Full-Time Employee Benefits
All full-time employees are eligible for dental insurance, effective the first of the month following 6 months of full-time employment. There is no charge for dental insurance coverage for employees and eligible dependents.

Vision Insurance
Full-Time and Part-Time Employee Benefits
All full-time and part-time employees are eligible for vision insurance, effective the first of the month following 31 days of employment. Payroll deduction is required.

Paid Time Off (PTO)
Full-Time Employee Benefits
Paid time off (PTO) hours are used for vacation days, personal/sick days, and holidays. Full-time employees are eligible for PTO hours after 30 calendar days. PTO hours are pro-rated according to the number of months of full-time employment. PTO hours are based on the type of position and length of service, and the amount of PTO increases based on the years of service. PTO hours for employees in the weekend program differ. Please see weekend program policy for details.

Part-Time Employee Benefits
Paid time off (PTO) hours are used for vacation days, personal/sick days, and holidays. Eligibility is accrued based on hours worked in the previous calendar year.

Life Insurance
Full-Time Employee Benefits
Full-time employees who have completed one year of full-time employment are provided group term life insurance in an amount equal to their annual salary. Cap as per policy.

Part-Time Employee Benefits
Part-time employees who have completed one year of employment and worked a minimum of 1,000 hours in the previous calendar year are provided with a $2,000 group term life insurance policy.

Tuition Assistance
Full-Time Employment Benefits
The purpose of tuition assistance is to provide opportunities for employees to obtain additional education or training in order to increase their competency in their current jobs and to prepare them for hospital employment opportunities in the future. All full-time employees employed one year are eligible for reimbursement of 2/3 of tuition costs to a maximum of $3,000 per fiscal year for undergraduate coursework and $6,000 per fiscal year for graduate coursework.

Full-time employees must continue to work for a specific period of time following receipt of reimbursement. Minimum grades of “C” for undergraduate courses and “B” for graduate courses are required to be considered for reimbursement.

Part-Time Employee Benefits
The purpose of tuition assistance is to provide opportunities for employees to obtain additional education or training in order to increase their competency in their current jobs and to prepare them for hospital employment opportunities in the future. Long-Term Disability
Full-Time Employee Benefits
Full-time employees with a minimum of one year of full-time employment immediately prior to the disability are eligible to apply for additional compensation for illnesses that extend beyond 180 days.

Short-Term Disability
Full-Time Employee Benefits
Full-time non-exempt employees with a minimum of 6 months of full-time employment immediately prior to a disability that prevents them from being able to work are eligible to receive a percentage of their pay based on prior years of service for up to 180 days. Full-time exempt employees receive 100% of their pay for up to 180 days.

403(b) MetLife Tax Deferred Annuity
Full-Time, Part-Time, and Per Diem Employee Benefits
All full-time, part-time, and per diem employees have the opportunity to enroll in a 403(b) tax deferred annuity program through voluntary payroll deduction.

401(k) Savings Plan
Full-Time, Part-Time, and Per Diem Employee Benefits
Sacred Heart HealthCare System wishes to provide retirement security for its employees by matching $1 for $1 on the first 2% (optional).

Health Care Flexible Spending Account
Full-Time Employee Benefits
Employees may set aside money on a pre-tax basis through payroll deduction to pay for non-reimbursed medical expenses (optional).

Dependent Care Reimbursement Account
Full-Time Employee Benefits
Employees may set aside money on a pre-tax basis through payroll deduction to pay for child/elder care expenses (optional).

Shift Differential
