I have a question does a protein shake have to replace a meal or can it be part of my liquids? I'm two weeks out and on soft foods have been getting an avg of 28-32 grams of protein and i know i need more.  Any suggestions

thanks,

Protein shakes should not be used as meal replacements, but as "scheduled snacks" in addition to our 3 meals per day for added protein.  Whey protein isolate is the best kind of protein.  Reputable brands are Chike, Unjury, Nectar Syntax and Bariatric Advantage for bariatric patients.

Do not count the protein drink as your water or fluid intake.  This is additional, not part of your required 64 ounces or more of fluids.
