Spring is here! Well, it will reach the 50s and 60s most of this week as the snow that fell overnight melts and declares winter history for this year. Signs of spring are here: birds are out in full force and maybe we should take our cue from them and fly around (walk/jog/run) and take in some sun and see the budding plants and animals coming out of hibernation.
I had the pleasure/pain of joining PARC (Pocono Area Running Group) on Saturday for a run and breakfast. Okay, I must confess, I have been exercising indoors instead of outdoors due to the cold, jogging in place and walking malls and the treadmill is NOT the paved or gravel road, so I have been underachieving with my exercise routine by a quarter to half due to the cold weather Arctic blast compared to others years. Well, on Saturday, I went out for a 2 mile solid run and 3 mile walk uphills (on Franklin Hill Road) and I came back so sore, the next day I could not move with pain from lactic acid. BUT I am back into the swing of things. There is a smile on my face. Okay, I worked through the pain. I am back in full force. The winter depression is subsiding and I am beginning to feel my new normal, that is, post op of 5 years almost.
Thank God spring is here!
