KC, It is normal for bariatric patients to experience hair loss.  Some lose strands and others lose it in clumps.  The good news is that the hair loss eventually stops and your hair will regrow.

My hair loss occurred from months 3-7 post bariatric sugery.  It regrew at about a year or so post op.  I am now 4 years post op and have a full head of hair.

What you can do to help yourself is to take BIOTIN 3,000 to 5,000 units.  You can purchase Biotin at any pharmacy.

Some people use Nioxin shampoo.  I tried it and it is a waste of money.  It did not help me with my hair loss and it is expensive.

When your food intake increases over time and you eat sufficient protein, the hair loss will stop.  All of us who had surgery have experienced hair loss.  You are not alone.  Hang in there.
