Hunger vs Emotional Eating

Today our school nurse gave us a pamphlet discussing the difference between hunger and emotional eating.  I thought to sahre this information with my bariatric buddies as follows:

HUNGER                                                                                                 EMOTIONAL EATING

1.  Occurs gradually.                                                                               1.  Comes on suddenly.

2.  You stop eating when you're full.                                                      2.  You keep eating.

3.  Any food will do.                                                                                3.  You crave specific foods.

Learn to recognize head hunger or "emotional eating" from real hunger.
