How are you all doing?  I am dealing with regain and not liking it at all! There are some days I regret having my RYN done.  I seriously need some help getting back on track.  I am looking into the on at Barix.  Its online and would fit my schedule better.

Good luck with it.  I gained a few pounds over the summer drinking cappuccinos and lattes while dealing with a running foot injury, but am losing this weight slowly now.  I gave up the caloric beverages and drink only water, decaf tea and decaf coffee.  Once or twice a week I will treat myself to regular coffee but no flavored drinks.  It is working.  I have an appt. with Dr. Holland in December for a followup.

I learned to deal with the pain of the foot injury through other coping mechanisms and realized that as a bariatric patient, it is taking a long time to deal with the pain because we are extremely limited in medications for swelling.  So I still run but 1-2x per week otherwise the pain is severe, bike, do aerobics, hike and walk 5 miles daily.  I am dealing much better now.  I got $600 orthodics and $45 orthodics in 2 pairs of my shoes.  I have bunions and toe bones growing crookedly, but I am not handicapped for life.  Thank God!  That was my worst nightmare---not being able to run again and getting fat again.

I am taking a bariatric class with nutritionist and bariatric psychologist/counselor at a different institition on Monday nights.  This is helping me as well.

BUT healing is occurring very slowly.  I see it in hindsight.  Next 5K run is 11-11-2012.

Can you forward me the name of the program you are using?  I would rather find one in person than do it online.  Thanks!

SHH used to have a back to basics program as well.  Call their office to find out....

The one at St. Luke's costs money; and since they are in the midst of one; it might be awhile till they have a new one starting....

Try utilizing the www.livingafterwls.com site.  Try doing the 5-day pouch test - to get you started.
