Tim,  As you head to the hospital for surgery, I wish all the best in your hew life post-op.  May your weight loss journey be a happy one.  Remember that you are in good hands.  Thinking of you and wishing you the best outcome.
By timr214 - 7/25/2012 11:01:29 AM
I am home now and I doing good.
By Nadia - 7/25/2012 12:13:02 PM
Yay Tim!  That is great news.  Remember to sip water 'round the clock and walk every opportunity you get until you tire because walking rids you of surgery gases!

I am feeling much better today. The pain is much less but the heat I could do with out.BigGrin

So glad you are doing well Tim... the heat can be an issue but I love the warm weather and cold all the time so I don't mind it...

Keep up the good work, you are writing a new chapter in your life... good for you!!!

I had my first check up and lost 6 more pounds! things are going good and most of the pain is gone. w00t
By Nadia - 8/3/2012 12:24:37 PM
Great job, Tim, a 6 pound loss.  Keep it up.  You are doing very well.
By timr214 - 8/4/2012 1:37:45 PM
Thanks Nadia! Eating soft food now and even with the band in place and not filled it does not take much to get full.
By Nadia - 8/5/2012 12:54:53 AM
What is amazing is how little food we really need to eat.  Mastery of the feeling of fullness is important.  Prior to RNY surgery, I was hungry all of the time.  Now I measure my portions and eat lightly compared to before and it is satisfying.

Tim you are progressing now to soft foods and feeling full.  Great.  Keep up the regimen.  You are doing remarkably well.
By alyssa719 - 8/8/2012 7:48:20 AM
Congratulations, Tim!

I found some chips at the store called Stacy's Pita chips multigrain. Dose anyone know about them?
By Nadia - 8/29/2012 12:33:40 AM
By Carey303 - 8/29/2012 10:07:28 AM
I get that brand of pita chips. I like them for the crunch. I only eat a couple and it satisfies me. They are a lot better than fried potato chips. I like the taste they have too. It takes a while for me to go through a bag but still it is a welcomed change in texture. Hope this is helpful.
By timr214 - 9/4/2012 3:03:20 PM

I have been taking 80 mgs. It don't seem to be helping that much. I know my weight will be up. Sad

I had a weight in and band adjustment on 10/19 and I lost 5 more pounds. Dr. Okolica is the best!! He said I am doing good. The adjustment did not go as well as the first one. i need two shots to numb me up. Dr. Okolica had a hard time getting to the port and we tried 3 different needles. It was painful but in the end he got in in the port. He added 2 more cc's. now I am at 7 cc's, that makes it half full. He said i am a good sport!

Dr. Okolica is the best and I would be able to do it with out him and his Encouragement!!!!!!!!  w00t
By Meg - 10/24/2012 5:26:12 AM
Great work Tim! The port will become easier to access as you loose more weight! So if you continue on the path that you are on you will do fine! Congrats on another 5 lbs!
By timr214 - 10/24/2012 3:23:20 PM
Thanks Meg! I am just going to keep chugging along!

Also We lost our house to the bank and they tried to kick out out. So I have had a lot of stress in my life. We don't have to get out of the house as of right now, our lawyer is getting us a stay of the eviction for a few months because my mom and myself are both handicapped.

I hope thing get better!!!

By MamaBear2_6 - 6/13/2013 9:31:12 AM
Tim, I agree with Nadia, things will get better.  It is hard with the band because there is so much uncertainty but you are doing great... just keep thinking positive, that is important!!
By timr214 - 6/17/2013 2:38:53 PM
I seen Dr. Vankat and removed the 1/2 cc and I feel much better. I did lose 18 more pounds. Now I am down to 393 pounds!!!!! I have not been below 400 pounds for 13 years!
By Nadia - 6/18/2013 1:00:54 AM
Tim, Did you and the bariatric staff/surgeon set a target weight for you?  If not, it is a good thing to have goals and direction.  They will keep us focused on our health regimen.  Surely we will have ups and downs in our lives, but striving for something (achievement) brings results.
By timr214 - 6/18/2013 1:51:26 PM
NADIA, I set a goal weight of 200 pounds. I know it will take some time but I'm in it for the long hull.

Tim Wink
By Nadia - 6/18/2013 2:47:07 PM
Tim, Super!!!  That is an achievable goal weight for you.  I know that you will reach your goal.  We are all here on our lifelong weight loss journeys.  Fitness and good health are our lives after bariatric surgery.  As long as we are goal-oriented, there are infinite possibilities.
By timr214 - 7/23/2013 4:01:05 PM

By Nadia - 11/24/2013 11:14:22 AM

By timr214 - 11/24/2013 1:59:36 PM
Nadia, Yes I will lose fat and skin. I am hopping for about 50 pounds.

By Nadia - 11/25/2013 12:30:03 AM
Wow!  50 pounds!  Really?  That is a lot of extra weight off through the surgery.  Well, good luck with the surgery and your future health.

Happy Thanksgiving!
