Which is worse?

I was grocery shopping for ranch salad dressing to have with fresh veggies and I was trying to get the lite or fat free. I was unsure of whic would be better because it seems the lower the fat content, the higher the carb content. SO, the question I have is which is worse: the fat or the carbs? The lite dressing has 7 grams of fat and I think it was 6 carbs and the fat free is 0 fat and 12 or 14 carbs. ( I found that weird because regular has only 2 carbs but 14 fat). Just want to see which I should use. Want to be sure to get the best thing for me.

Surgery is on tuesday and I am getting excited. Please give me your opinions. Thanks

Hi Carey,

I look at the sugar and fats.  If I can keep it below 8 grams of either (which I am very low as I keep it to like 1.5 or 2 if I can).  I know the carbs can turn into sugars and that counts too but I don't know how it comes into play.  I'm sorry I'm not much help...

Good luck on Tuesday.

I would make my own dressing from natural ingredients:  Mrs. Dash spices (or my own dried ones) with 1TB of extra virgin olive oil from Season's in Bethlehem and 1 packet of Splenda.   Or just enjoy the salad veggies with balsamic vinegar or just plain.

My motto is that I do not conform to salad dressings, they need to conform to the new me!  HA!!!!!

Ultimately, post gastric bypass (or with any "diet") it's about calories in vs. calories out.

I prefer to chose lower fat & calories than say carbs....watch your sugar contents & fat contents post-surgery and you should be fine!
