I would like to take the time to say hello to everyone and tell you a little about myself and what i ave gone through to this point in my life change and weight loss.

I have always fought the battle with weight gain however i was never obese until after i got cancer in the early eighty's. This threw me into a severe depression that lasted for a couple decades with the weight just piling on one pound after another. Oh i tried to loss weight here and there over the years and lost some weight but would just gain it back again. Nothing really changed and i didn't really care. Figured the weight or something else would kill me sooner or later and i would die happy eating what i wanted when i wanted it. Fun was the end all and be all of my so called "happy" life. Boy was i ever wrong!

I met the most beautiful and loving woman i have ever had the honor of knowing in 2006 and fell head over heels in love with her! She didn't try to change me or anything like that she just accepted me for who i was and we got married six months later and still are very happily married!

We both tried to lose weight together and did a little. It was very hard for me as i was over 600 lbs and everything is very difficult when you are that big! But i wanted to lose the weight and stuck with it. through all ups and downs for a couple of years and lost about 100 lbs.

Heather heard about Doctor Holland and talked about it and decided to go to one of his meetings. We went and her what he had to say and talked to him and asked a lot of questions. We went home and talked a lot to each other about doing the bypass and frankly i was really scared to go through with it but i went online and did a lot of research. My wife and i decided we would go through it together and set up a appointment to see Doctor Holland at the end of April of 2011. We went t that meeting with a lot of questions and still a lot of fear. He was able to fully answer all questions and  help a little with the fear. My surgery was set for May 28th of last year. At that time i was still over 500 lbs. Kept working hard and at the point of surgery i was 477 lbs! The surgery itself was no problem at all. Everything went great! Stayed over night in the hospital and felt like a new man the ext day. The only mistake i made was i live almost 100 miles from the hospital and the drive home made a mess of me , i was in a lot of pain. That lasted about a week and then i was much better and able to start working out again and learning about my body again.

To this Date i have lost down to about 318, still a lot of weight to go but it is one pound at a time. I feel so much better and am doing great! I am off a bunch of pills i had to take before and am able to do things now that i haven't been able to do in decades! Everyday is a new day and i am so looking forward to each one.

At this time my wife has not been able t have her surgery as she was dealt the cancer blow and is dealing with thyroid cancer right now and battling it like the hero she is! And she will win and then together we will continue on the road to a healthier and better tomorrow!

Wow, that is truly remarkable. Good for you! You have lost almost half of the weight you had been carrying around. I am sure you are very proud. I wish all the luck in the world to you on your journey. I also will keep your wife in my thoughts and prayers. I know what it is like to see someone battle cancer. Keep your head up and stay positive. It may seem like it will never get better but it will. Again good luck and best wishes.
