BIRTH PLACE AT SACRED HEART
Sacred Heart Hospital offers premier maternity suites where
mother and father can stay together through labor and delivery.
In the homelike birthing room, the mother-to-be can labor,
deliver, recover and receive postpartum care, even if she requires
a cesarean. “Rooming-in” is encouraged. Counselors
assist breastfeeding mothers.
Featuring private rooms only, The Birth Place is arranged
in a sweeping semicircle with the nurses’ station at
the hub. A state-of-the-art central monitoring system feeds
continuous medical evaluations of mother and newborn to the
station. Hydrotherapy in our Jacuzzi room eases the stress
and pain of labor.
Newborns needing critical care receive it in our fully equipped
Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. All babies born at The
Birth Place undergo Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) screening
to check for hearing loss, a common condition which can otherwise
go undetected for years. This noninvasive test can help identify
problems and avoid developmental delays.
Varied educational opportunities are available for expectant
families. To learn more, call 610-776-4755. We also encourage
tours; call 610-776-4756 to schedule one. |
